Ecological Environment Protection and Management of Drinking Water Source of Gaozhou Reservoir

Gaozhou Reservoir is one of the four major drinking water sources of Guangdong Province with a total catchment area of 1,022 km², total designed reservoir capacity of 1.28 billion m³, annual average runoff flow of 1.477 billion m³ and a total population living in the catchment area of around 300,000 people. The project conducts a full and complete investigation of present ecological environment, social and economic status of Gaozhou Reservoir region, proposes the comprehensive management objectives on the basis of present ecological, social and economic conditions and existing management project, and reasonably designs the plans of water environment comprehensive management, ecology rehabilitation and protection, and capacity building of environment surveillance.
