On September 11 to 13, 2018, thefourth Eastern Economic Forum was held in the coastal city of Vladivostok in Russia. The theme is “Far East: Expanding Opportunity Scope”. Chinese President Xi Jinping was invited to attend the event and deliver a keynote speech. The business delegates of China and other Asian nations discussed the issues of practical cooperation.
During the forum, SINOMEC Vice President LiuYunpeng met SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov, Russia-China Friendship Association (RCFA) Chairman Dmitry Mezentsev and executives of many Russian enterprises. Liu said that SINOMEC is actively supporting the connection of China's Belt and Road Initiative with Russian Eurasian Economic Union and the implementation of FarEast development strategy and Northeast China rejuvenation strategy. The group will concentrate on the EPC construction of international energy engineering and promote the energy production capacity cooperation and interconnection between China and Russia.
Liu on behalf of SINOMEC signed the Agreement on Intent of SINOMEC and Russia's Primorskiy Kray Government on Building an Oil Refinery Plant in Primorskiy Kray that is to build an oil refinery plant of 3 million t/a capacity in this region. It will greatly alleviate the shortage of gasoline and diesel of local people and provide large amount of job opportunities.
SINOMEC will take advantage of resource and platform strength and make full use of its experience of energy technology and engineering to secure the implementation of existing projects and make greater contribution to the energy industry in both countries.
