Due to the epidemic, there has been a surge in the number of abandoned masks, and the disposal of abandoned masks has become a topic of public concern. Today, CCTV News broadcast the whole process from collection, transportation to incineration of waste masks in Meishan City, Sichuan Province. In the program, Zhongji Meishan Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Zhongji Meishan”), a subsidiary of China Sinogy Electric Group of SINOMEC, demonstrated to reporters and audience the company’s standardized working mechanism and operation flow from unloading, grasping and delivering to incineration in the disposal of municipal solid waste and social waste masks.
Under such severe circumstances, Zhongji Meishan, which was originally responsible for the treatment of municipal solid waste in “two districts and two counties” of Meishan City, not only organizes its staff to make strict epidemic prevention measures and emergency management plans, but also puts the disposal of waste masks as a top priority in fighting the epidemic under the guidance of Sichuan Province’s technical guidelines for the pollution prevention and emergency disposal of medical wastes related to epidemic and social waste masks.
In order to improve the combustion rate of municipal solid waste, it is necessary to ferment it for 5 to 7 days before put into the incinerator. However, for social waste masks, in order to minimize the storage time of garbage in the air and avoid secondary pollution, after being uniformly collected by Meishan Environmental Sanitation Department, they will be sterilized at high temperature, and then transported closely by a special car into the company’s closed stock bin under pressure. After that, the company will immediately organize to grasp and deliver them into the boiler feed ports on the same day, so as to avoid the outflow of any waste masks. Throughout the whole process of incineration, the company implements the concept of green environmental protection. By increasing the temperature of the boiler, the garbage can be fully burned and harmful gases can be avoided.
The numerical changes of waste fermentation chamber, garbage incineration port and various equipment can be tracked and observed in the control center of the company. Moreover, the company also monitors all kinds of gas emissions in real time and compares them with provincial and municipal standard data to ensure that the incineration process is pollution-free.
The epidemic is still raging, but we will fight together to win this war against COVID-19.
